Barrage Ait Messaoud

Barrage Ait Messaoud

MCF is proud to announce that it has acquired the fishing rights of barrage Ait Messaoud (Kasbah Tadla region) since June 20, 2017. This barrage of approximately 190Ha is located between 2 larger reservoirs (barrage Ahmed Hansali 2800Ha and barrage Al Massira 13700Ha) and is used as drinking water and irrigation reservoir. The lake is fed by the river Oum erbia, the second largest river in Morocco with a length of 550Km. This river has an average flow rate of 120m³/s and rises in the Atlas Mountains at an altitude of 1800m through 44 salt and fresh water sources. The fish stock is still largely unknown, but it is certain that there are carp of large caliber. New is that MCF has also acquired the fishing rights for commercial fishing, which means that no one has the right to fish with fishing nets. The lake is located in a valley which has a big advantage because of the wind.
