Marcel Sommeling and Lesley Roos. from Holland, have fished the lake in the middle of March 2011.
These are the words and pictures, we received from Marcel and Lesley:
"Up to now, it was the 6th time that Marcel fished the lake and again, everything was perfectly organized. We fished from Sat. March 12th until Tue. March 22nd, 2011. Earlier on, this year, Marcel fished the lake in Feb. together with Dennis Klerk. That time, they had 25 runs and caught 22 carp, all under 20 pounds. This time, Marcel and Lesley had 13 runs and caught 12 carp. This time, they succeeded catching bigger ones. This makes carp fishing at Bin El Ouidane so beautiful...each year is different when it comes to numbers and weights. One thing is already for certain, next year they will come over again!. Marc, we enjoyed being the first guests in your new hotel. This hotel, really is an improvement to your organization. Again, thanks a lot for a very nice fishing trip and greetings to you and your co-workers."
GRTS Marcel and Lesley.

Update 01/04/2011
Fishing carp at Bin El Ouidane, really 'kicked off' now...The water level is presently approx. 7m below maximum level. That means, 6 m lower, compared to the same period, last year. All area's at the lake are now producing fish...
Morocco Carp Fishing has done some big investments by buying a new taxi car, new boats for transport and a big catamaran type of boat,
ideal to transport people and goods under all weather circumstances.
The biggest news of all: Morocco Carp Fishing has participated in taking over a new hotel in the town Ouaouizaght.
The new name off the hotel will be: "Morocco Carp Fishing" ! The hotel is operational since two weeks now. All this to improve and optimise our service to our customers...
We received some pictures from the French Team 'Fabrice', who fished the lake in March. No numbers, no weights were given to us.
Enjoy the pictures!

Update 25/02/2011
2010 was marked by a bizarre fall. Carp were caught in large numbers, but most of them weighed between 10 and 20 pounds. Of course, sometimes, the specimen were caught as well, but not in large numbers.
In January and early February 2011, it was even difficult to catch carp. This situation started to improve from the second week of February onwards. Also the bigger carp are showing on the bank now. The biggest carp being caught in February, up to now, is a known mirror of 26.2 kg caught by the German Steffen Gehder (last time caught in November 2009 at 24.7 kg) and a magnificent common of 25 kg, caught by a member of the French group L'Haarbi. Today, a message came in, that two more carp over 20 kg have been caught. Once the photographs have been received, we will put them on the site. The water level is currently at about 8 m below maximum level. Given the ever (exceptionally) good weather conditions, it looks unlikely that this, in the short term, will change drastically. In the bay from the base camp and the other shallower parts of the lake, large weed beds are now beginning to form. Just a few weeks more, and spawning will begin ... Currently, the carp are not yet showing in large group...

Update 21/12/2010

Catch report for the English Group of 4 that fished 11th to 20th November 2010
Dave & Saul fished the large Island near base camp. They had 71 fish between them, most fish were between 15Lb & 20Lb with 4 between 20lb & 30lb topped with a 33Lb common & 38Lb 4oz mirror carp. Dave’s fish came at approx 100m range between 30 and 40 feet deep on giant maize hookbaits fished over a bed of normal maize. Saul caught most of his fish in slightly deeper water with the two over 30lb coming at around 50 feet deep. Again most were caught on giant Maize fished over a bed of standard maize with some fish falling to a fleuro pop-up/atlas boilie snowman presentation. Anton & Jezz fished the small island left of base camp but moved after 3 days as were only catching small ones between 6lb and 12lb with one 20lb, though did have a total of over 20fish from this first swim. Then moved to the small flat Island at the top end of the lake and found 2 nice plateaux and a silty point. The fishing here was better and in the remainder of the trip caught around another 40 fish, mostly between 10lb & 15lb with 4 between 20lb & 30lb and one 32lb common. All of the fish from the small Island were caught at approx 150-200meters range in 29 to 45 feet of water. Most to a string of 3-4 grains of maize topped with fleuro maize. Some were caught on fleuro pop-up boilie/atlas boilie snowman but were having problems with atlas boilies being whittled by small fish, even after air drying them.
The stone sofa on this island was a great feature. We did add a coffee table & foot stool for extra effect……. Just needs a flat screen TV now! Can’t wait till the next trip in summer 2011!
