A lot of carp (big ones as well) has been caught by other anglers since...

Update 27/12/2008
After Yury Begalov and Zeljko Capan (end of November, see previous 'Latest News'), there has been nobody fishing the lake for the first 3 weeks of December. Now, between Christmas and the second week of January, there will be 12 fishermen at the lake.

The first ones, Christophe Reiner and Timo Keil from Germany, arrived a few day's ago. From the first day onwards, they were catching carp. As a matter of fact, the first carp, after approx. 1 hr of fishing, was a linear carp of 19 kg (41Lbs8) for Christophe Reiner! His friend, Timo Keil, caught a 23.3 kg (51 Lbs2) common, the day after. No doubt, there will be more news soon in the next 'Latest News'...
Bookings are coming in steadily now...we like to advise people, who have interest to come over to Bin El Ouidane in winter or spring time, not to wait to long anymore before contacting the Morocco Carp Fishing representatives to arrange bookings.
Tip: Specially for the Dutch and Belgian guy's, at the moment, for January 2009, the fly company 'Jet4you' is offering (return) flights for euro 40 only! These are flights from Charleroi ('Brussels South') to and from Casablanca.
Last week, the temperatures at the lake were daytime: approx. 20 ºC / nighttime: approx. 3 ºC.

Also, we can announce now, that Mr. Frasier Cairns (also known as 'radcarper') from 'Morocco Carp' and related to 'Hotel Bin El Ouidane', 'Cats n Carp' and 'Essex Angling', has officially confirmed, having laid down his attempts to become a legal organizer for carp fishing trips to the lake Bin El Ouidane. He has found that it was impossible to become the necessary legal permits...Frasier Cairns sold his fishing tackle, partly, to Morocco Carp Fishing...
This leaves us with Mr. Karl Heinz Afflerbach, from 'Progressive Baiting Germany'. Until today, on his website, he is still offering carp fishing trips to Bin El Ouidane and this without legal permits from the local authorities! Not only he is a deceiver but he also is spreading false and misleading rumors about Morocco Carp Fishing! Conclusion: Be aware of this man and his company and their deceptive practices!
Furthermore...due to plenty of rainfall, in October, November and December, the water level is rising steady and rapidly. At the moment, the water level is approx. 8m higher than in September. This is still approx. 6m under base camp level. All the mountains around the lake are covered in snow. Expectations are, that the lake will be 'full' or 'nearly full' by the end of march or in the course of April/may.

Update 15/11/2008

Morocco Carp Fishing is proud to announce that 'Atlas boilies' are now for sale, on site. After several reports of carp being caught on
boilies, we did all the necessary to being able to offer and produce the boilies ourselves. The boilies are made of a self-made 'Atlas mix', based on birdfood.Grinded local Atlas anise is added along with some banana flavor. The result is a, affordable, very nice boiliewith a perfect texture and smell. The 'Atlas boilies' are kept in the freezer and are for sale since the 1st of november 2008, for euro 5/kg.

  Update 16/10/2008
Maximilian Worsey and his girlfriend Kaleigh were making a four weeks round trip through the South of Europe, with his own transformed mini van. They came over to North Africa, the first week of October, to spend a weeks fishing at the lake. After ‘struggling’ a few day’s (of seeing fish but not catching them), Max found the feeding area and caught his share of the Bin El Ouidane carp…

      Update 13/10/2008

On Monday evening, the 29 th of September, a very heavy rainstorm passed the Atlas Mountains, and the lake of Bin El Ouidane. The next day, bulldozers had to clear the roads from mud and rocks.

Marc Vergauwen and Stefaan Bleyenberg fished together for five day’s, from Friday the 3 th. until Tuesday the 7 th of October. This was in the back of the island (a ‘new swim’), in front of the base camp. (This island is ‘new’, due to the low water level. This ‘new island’ is approx. as big as a football field…)

They caught approx. a dozen carp per day. Surprisingly, along with some very nice carp, they also caught a number of small carp (approx. 1 kg), every day.
Biggest carp, were two commons of both exactly 20,6 kg (45 Lbs6), both caught within 5 minutes…!  In the mean while, we heard of very promising catch reports of the other guys. More news,  soon on these pages

Update 30/09/2008                                             The new season has started!

Since the end of may, there has been hardly any fishing activities at the lake. Only a few brave French anglers were found prepared to withstand the high Moroccan temperatures at the lake side. They were able to catch carp, on a daily base, but supprisingly,
they caught a lot of the smaler sized carp. (Biggest 19 Kg+ and 17 Kg+).

So, by the arrival of the Englishmen Martin Dillow and Terry Fellows, the 'new season' was 'kicked off'. They arrived at the lake the 20st of september 2008.
These sympathic guy's caught carp from the first day onwards. Not only they both managed to catch a series of magnificant looking carp
(known as 'typical' for Lac Bin El Ouidane), they also caught both their personal best at respectively 43Lbs20 and 40Lbs40! Congratulations

Terry caught 40Lbs40, 34Lbs40, 32Lbs20, 20Lbs14, 19Lbs10 and 5 smaller ones.
Martin caught 43Lbs20, 39Lbs10, 35Lbs10, 20Lbs12, 20Lbs10, 18lbs12, 18Lbs10, 18Lbs00, 14Lbs00, 12Lbs00 and 2 smaller ones.

Martin and Terry were also experiancing a very heavy thunderstorm, on the last day of their stay.Bridges and roads had to be repared the day after.

Next week, we are expecting, in total, 15 anglers, from Holland, Germany and France.
We are all curious what the new season has to bring for them!
We will keep you informed.
