Organization - General Info 2010/2011

The transport, to and from the airport (Casablanca or Marrakech), is price included.
Dinner service (traditional Moroccan kitchen) is price included.
Boat and depth sounder are price included.

Electric boat motors can be hired and are not price included.
The price for hiring an electric boat motor (with battery) comes to euro 100 for 8 fishing day’s. For longer fishing periods, the price will be euro 12.5 extra, per day, per motor.
(Electric boat motors must be booked together with the booking)

The fly ticket is not  price included.
You can order your tickets yourself, or (if you don’t know how to do is) you can ask a travelling agency to do this for you. Your representative can give you some information where to find the cheapest fly tickets. (For instance, there is a daily flight from London Gatwick to Marrakech for GBP 39, with Atlas Blue). If you arrange the tickets yourself, our price included transport service is only valid for Casablanca or Marrakech.

After you have taken contact with your Morocco Carp Fishing representative, you will get the dates of your interest, 4 weeks ‘in option’. This means that you will get 4 weeks to deposit your non-refundable deposit of euro 200 per person. If the deposit has not been received within 4 weeks, you can request the same (or new) dates again, and again, if still available, you will get these dates 4 weeks, ‘in option’. Bookings and dates are fixed and final from the moment the deposit has been received.

You can book at any date, and this as from the 1st of July 2009 onwards.
(Other years, we worked with fixed days, but that is finished now).

Bookings are possible for 8 day’s (this is the minimum), 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, or 14 day’s.
Prices are starting from euro 500 onwards. (For an 8 days fishing arrangement).

Differently than in former years, the price for your arrangement is calculated depending on the starting and finishing fishing day. Your stay in the hotel is not price included. This is to be paid by yourself to the hotel manager. The price for an overnight stay, at the hotel, costs euro 20 per person. (A hot meal and breakfast included). All drinks, other than coffee, tea or water are not price included.

For Example: You arrive at Casablanca (or Marrakech) on the Saturday afternoon (or evening). You will be picked up at the airport and brought to the hotel. On the Sunday morning, you will be brought to the lake, all the necessary fishing tackle will be handed over to you and you start fishing. The next week, on the Sunday afternoon, you stop fishing.
In the early evening, you will be brought back to the hotel. You will have a warm meal and after an overnight stay and breakfast, you will be brought back to the airport of Casablanca (or Marrakech), in the course of Monday.
The price for your fishing trip arrangement will be calculated as an 8 day’s fishing trip.
(From Sunday until Sunday, 8 day’s)
The price for your hotel (to be paid by yourself, to the hotel manager) will be 2 x euro 20 = euro 40.
Your total traveling time = 10 day’s.

As a consequence of this new arrangement, the client will have to pay euro 50 to euro 100 less on an average, compared to previous years, for the same amount of fishing day’s…!

On the day of arrival at Casablanca (or Marrakech), you will be picked up at the airport. (Somebody with a sign ‘Morocco Carp Fishing’ will be waiting for you). With a taxi, you will be driven, direction lake ‘Bin el Ouidane’. (The ride takes approximately 4 hrs). Depending on the time of the day and the situation, you will be brought to the lake or to the hotel, in the nearest village ‘Ouaouizerth’, to spend the first night. (From the hotel to the lake, takes about 15 minutes by car).

In case you have been brought to the hotel, the following (early) morning, you will be picked up and brought to the lake. There, you will get a small ‘welcome drink’. Than you will be supplied with the tackle and the latest ‘lake information’. After you have chosen your swim, you will be brought (with boat) to the swim(s). Upon arrival at the swim, our co-worker(s) will set up the tents (bivy’s) and the shadow shelter.

All people get with them (per two persons):

• A stove + gas + cool box + shadow shelter + a big cooking pot (maize) + a big barrel (maize storage) + a boat with fish finder + 2 safety jackets + a chemical toilet + a table and 2 chairs.
• Landing net + unhooking mat + weigh sling
• A full set of cooking material + a pot and a pan + cooking oil + salt and pepper + Moroccan flavors + (instant) coffee, milk and sugar.

All people get with them (per person):

• 3 rod’s + bivy  + bed chair
• 6 bank sticks or a rodpot with buzzer bars (upon choise)

Every day, the organizations boat will come along, at least once.
They will bring you breakfast, a warm meal and fresh foods.
At the same time, our co workers will ask you if you want something extra or special, to bring with them, the next boat trip. (Within the possibilities).

People who want to alter swim(s) can report this to the organization and they will be moved the following day. (In principle, every swim, which is not occupied, can be moved to, upon request).

On the last fishing day, the fishermen will be brought to the hotel again or directly to the airport. (Depending on flight schedule)

Not included in the total price (but available, upon request, at very democratic prices):

• Water
• Coca Cola
• Beer is available (lager, 33 cl, in cans) (to be ordered upon arrival)
• Maize is available in sacs of 50 kg. (Euro 30 / sac)
• (Moroccan) wine can be ordered upon arrival.
• (Moroccan) cigarettes (similar to Marlboro Red) can be ordered upon arrival. (200 cigarettes per carton)
• Quality pellets ‘halibut’
• Atlas-Boilies (Yellowish color, based on birdfood with grinded (local) Atlas anise and ‘a touch’ of banana flavor.
• Chickpeas

Furthermore, if you need anything (other than on this list), you can always contact the base with your mobile phone. (You will get the tel. numbers of our co workers in the base camp). They will provide as soon as possible in your needs, within the possibilities.

Fishing tackle to bring with you:

• Reels, buzzers, bite indicators and a small tackle box with rig material.
• Sleeping bag
• Carp sacks + scales

Leads are available, at base camp, all sizes, ‘in-line’ and ‘swivel’.

Most items, which normally are in your tackle box, are also available at the base camp.

Tip: Take your sleeping bag as second piece of luggage with you.

Warning:

• Don’t bring any hemp with you. (This will cause you ‘big trouble’, in Morocco)
• Don’t put any tackle (nor your reels), in your hand luggage! (At some airports this is causing trouble as well!)
